Who Is Amél?
Amél grew up in a musical family — his father ran a high-end audio company, so sound was part of his life from the start. Following his older sister's lead, he began playing the violin at nine years old. Though he played for years, in school orchestras and beyond, he never imagined a career in music.
In 2016 he was introduced to the music of Alan Walker and was enamored by the clean, powerful sound of EDM. As he listened to more electronic music, he wondered how it was created. During a trip to Spain in 2018, he heard of Avicii's passing, and finally decided it was time to learn about EDM production. As soon as he arrived home, Amél downloaded FL Studio and spent hundreds of hours learning the program.
Along with his friend C The Third, Amél was signed to a small German record label in fall of 2018 under the duo name Spane. He kept pushing as a producer — and picked up speed as a DJ in the back half of the pandemic — until Afrojack himself took notice in 2022.
Amél signed to Afrojack's label, WALL Recordings, during Tomorrowland Winter 2023. Since then he's released music alongside Martin Garrix, David Guetta, Tiësto and Afrojack himself, launched his own imprint, Manitou Records, and now heads the debut release on Lunar Vision Records — all while building an audience of 750,000+ monthly Spotify listeners.
